Created and owned six high 6 figure businesses, operated 3 other businesses generating anywhere from $20 to $35M in gross revenue. Operated divisions for 3 brand-name Fortune 500 companies. These have included being a COO/CFO for a large non-profit organization, director of global merchandise for the Harlem Globetrotters, General Manager for Rawhide an 1880’s Western Theme town. Taught karate for 5 years after earning my black belt. Wrote 9 books about business for small business owners/entrepreneurs.

I learned a very painful lesson many years ago, in that being in business by yourself puts a lot of stress on yourself. It’s a lesson that business owners continue to encounter. They think they can do everything themselves. Wear all the hats in the business. Be the salesperson, bookkeeper, accountant, marketing and advertising guru, human resources, operations manager, landlord, janitor, inventory specialist, project manager, and the list goes on and on. Business owners only know what they know and they need help learning or understanding the stuff they don’t know or are not passionate about. Many business owners are either eating the chicken or the feathers – and that gets old FAST!

My passion, experience, and knowledge kept drawing me back to working with small to medium-sized business owners. Having a background in starting and growing businesses in a variety of industries I want to see businesses survive and thrive.

I knew that if Michael Jordan had multiple coaches and he was the greatest basketball player ever, then he knew something. He knew he could only see himself from one viewpoint-his own. He knew that the coaches saw his strengths and weaknesses that he could not see. He knew his coaches would sometimes take him out of his comfort zone, push him so he could become an even greater basketball player. Like they say, “I want to be like Mike.”

Being an entrepreneur is like jumping into a foggy abyss with a parachute. You can either fall to your impending doom. Pray that you find a parachute on the way down. Or find someone that had a parachute and will show you how to use it so you can land safely.

In one of my businesses, I brought on a coach to work with me in developing a new strategy for my business.  My coach had me seeing my business from a different viewpoint, and I wanted to get off the hamster wheel cycle I was in.  The following Monday I closed down my business, turned in all my licenses. Monday night created my new company with a new focus.  Brought the right people on board to be my strategic partners so I wasn’t doing everything myself.

We want business owners to stop going through the typical business cycle small and medium-sized business owners go through and start getting the results they want in their business. to focus on my client’s needs and they started getting tremendous results within their business.
